Invisalign Clinic in Mississauga and Stoney Creek

Looking for a straighter, more beautiful smile? Our Invisalign clinic can help!

A beautiful smile is about way more than aesthetics. We’ve seen first-hand how straightening a patient’s smile can help improve their confidence and self-esteem. Instead of hiding their smile, they’re always ready to show it off.

Thankfully, orthodontic treatment is becoming so mainstream that more adults are investing in it. It’s not just for kids anymore. And due to updated technology, this type of treatment is affordable for more people.

One such technological advancement is Invisalign treatment, an alternative to traditional metal braces.

What Is Invisalign and How Does Invisalign Treatment Work?

Invisalign is a brand of clear orthodontic aligners. They fit over the patient’s top and bottom teeth, kind of like whitening trays. Every few weeks, our patients get a new set of aligners. The new aligners will fit somewhat tighter than the last set as each set is progressively “straighter,” helping to shift the teeth into their new positions with gentle pressure.

How are these aligners made?

When we determine that a patient is a good candidate for Invisalign clear aligners, we’ll start by using a 3D scanner to scan the patient’s teeth, creating models of their teeth. Then, an Invisalign technician creates custom clear aligners based on those models.

Who is a Good Candidate for Treatment from an Invisalign Dentist?

When patients visit our Invisalign doctor for a consultation, we’ll start by explaining why they’re a good candidate for this type of orthodontic treatment. Patients who have the following circumstances typically respond well to Invisalign treatment:

  • Certain types of crossbites
  • Crowded teeth
  • Crooked, overlapping teeth
  • Protruding teeth
  • Spaces between the teeth
  • Minor open bites, underbites, and overbites

Benefits of Invisalign Treatment in Ontario, Canada

One of the main benefits of seeking treatment from an Invisalign clinic is that patients get clear aligners. The aligners are virtually invisible!

Invisalign aligners are also:

Extremely comfortable.

Removable – After removing their aligners, patients can eat anything they want. They can brush and floss normally, thereby reducing their risk of decay and gum disease. Another definite plus: Patients can remove the aligners for special events like graduation, pictures, prom, a wedding, or a workplace presentation.

Faster – On average, treatment takes 18-24 months, though it may sometimes take as little as 12 months. Of course, the amount of time treatment takes depends on each patient’s unique needs and the complexity of their case.

FAQs: Answers to Our Most Commonly Asked Questions

Most patients have a lot of questions about their orthodontic treatment options. Here are just a few we get regularly.

Is Orthodontic Treatment Painful?

Some patients notice mild tooth and gum soreness when they first put in their new aligners. Some experience zero symptoms after changing to a new set of aligners. It all depends on a patient’s unique anatomy, case complexity, and sensitivity levels.

Those who do experience sensitivity or soreness generally experience a decline in their symptoms after a few days. During this time, they can reduce their symptoms by sticking to a soft diet. Rinsing with warm salt water can also provide some relief.

What Can I Expect Before, During, and After Invisalign Treatment?

Before treatment, we walk patients through:

  • Why Invisalign is their best option
  • Oral hygiene instructions
  • Aligner care
  • What to expect while undergoing ortho treatment

During treatment, they’ll:

  • Need to change to new aligners every one to two weeks
  • Visit us approximately every month

Once treatment is complete, we provide our patients with a retainer to prevent the teeth from shifting.

How Often Do I Need to Visit My Invisalign Dental Clinic?

We urge patients to visit our Invisalign clinic every four weeks for best results. During these appointments, we will evaluate how well our patient is responding to the treatment and make adjustments if necessary.

What is an Invisalign Alternative?

The most common alternative to clear aligners is traditional metal braces. Other alternatives include clear aligners that patients can purchase online. Unfortunately, these aren’t the best option because they don’t allow for regular dental visits. Monthly orthodontic check-ups allow us to monitor each patient’s progress, while evaluating the health of their teeth and gums.

Get a Smile You’ll Be Happy to Put on Display

Orthodontic treatment is an investment in our patients’ happiness, confidence, and health.

Straight teeth and an aligned bite allow their teeth and jaw to function properly. An ideal bite also makes it easier to practice good oral hygiene at home. Because it’s easier to brush and floss, patients lower their risk of dental decay and gum disease.

With Invisalign clear aligners, patients can go through the orthodontic process with confidence and ease. And once their treatment is completed, our patients have a smile they’re proud to show off.
